Study abroad
My position at a predominantly teaching focused university affords the opportunity to fold students into my research—service learning with community based partners is one way I accomplish this. I most recently brought CSUF students to the coffee producing region of central Vietnam to learn more about the paradox of production and the politics of ethnic minority farming communities.
open access | affordable learning solutions
I have participated in several affordable learning solutions initiatives at CSUF and pride myself on keeping classroom costs at or near zero dollars for my students. For more on affordable learning solutions in the California State University system, please see the AL$ website.
